Souhrada Family Celebrates their 7th Annual Reunion Our 7th Annual Souhrada Reunion was again a joyful
event as 19 family members gathered at 6:30 PM on Saturday, August 8, 1987 at
the Davis Corners Restaurant for dinner. Dalyn spoke of the history of the
Original Souhrada Farm, the farm where he and his wife Phyllis and their
family now live and where our 2nd Souhrada Reunion in 1972 was held. He
invited anyone who wasn’t at that reunion or anyone interested in seeing this
farm that is now 110 years old this year to come the next day at the close of
our reunion for a tour of the farm. The honor of being the oldest family member to attend this reunion was Elizabeth Wosoba Vanicek of Oxford Junction, Iowa, who has good memories of Souhrada gatherings in the Oxford Junction area many years ago. She is the mother of Velma Flynn, and John & Anton Vanicek. Coming from Cedar Falls, Iowa was the youngest, only 4 months old. She was April M. Souhrada, daughter of Todd & Karen Souhrada, granddaughter of Dalyn and Phyllis Souhrada and a great-great granddaughter of Vaclav & Kathryn Souhrada. On Sunday at the close of the reunion many family members accepted DaIyn’s invitation to come and see this Souhrada Century Old Farm Land. By Leota Campbell
