A large turnout was not expected, yet 33 relatives, cousins and their friends gathered. The opening belonged to the bagpipe group of Mike Cwach, a Czech from South Dakota. Subsequently, the entertainment continued and a tour of the exhibition on the history of our families and the emigration of the Souhrada’s to America continued. Refreshments were provided by the Souhrada’s attending and they were really delicious, homemade cakes, apple strudel, pumpkins, roast meat, sandwiches, canapés and other homemade products. A big thank you to all who prepared an excellent treat. We remembered our deceased relatives. We welcomed everyone present with the mayor of Bernartice, Pavel Souhrada. Souhradas came from Pilsen, Usti nad Labem, Tachov, Vodňany, Chrášťany, Hluboká, Hrazánek, Bernartice, Zvíkov, Strakonice, Písek, Prague, Putim, Čimelice, Drhovle, and Radovesice. That's where the Souhradas live and care about our history. The history of Souhrada is also the title of two parts of the publication published by Jiří Souhrada for our relatives, who can thus learn more from many generations of our ancestors. This was followed by a screening of a unique presentation from the lives of our cousins and relatives in America, created by Peter Souhrada of Colorado and Anton Vanicek of Muscatine, Iowa. It was certainly very interesting to get to know old documents and photographs, pictures and a photo together from the last Reunion in Iowa. To listen to us, musicians Jan Vlntý played accordion and Mr. Kothanek played drums, songs by our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, which are still played today. They are from the same region as Souhradas and we can find their surnames in our pedigrees. Blanka Vikinga from the family of Souhrada, brought us various interesting facts and events found in old documents or newspaper articles, and also delighted us with a beautiful glass pipe from her artistic glass workshop. Discussion of some people in pedigree, searching for ancestors and our relatives in a 14-meter-long pedigree, is already a traditional search for lost relatives. Thank you to everyone who came and hope to meet again in a year or two. Regards and good health. Jiří
