2023 Souhrada Family Reunion – the
12th reunion held in the Czech Republic September 10, 2023, Bernartice, Czech Republic Hosted by: Jiri Souhrada The 12th
Reunion Souhrada was held again in the village of Bernartice on September 10,
2023. Several families excused themselves due to the virus, some were on
vacation. Mayor Pavel Souhrada again provided everything necessary, Blanka Vikinga
prepared a translation from German about the history of our newly found Coat
of Arms. Jiří Souhrada commented on the projected photos from the
Souhrada Meeting in Iowa and photos from the Protivín region in Iowa and
Písek in North Dakota. We were interested in the 2024 calendars of the
painter Valentin Horba, a regular participant in
our meetings. The genealogy of the Souhrada families, which has a total of
3,000 names, and an exhibition of Souhrada documents from Bohemia and America
were again exhibited. As every year, most of the Souhradas
brought home-made specialties, a fruit cake from the mayor's wife, Vojta Souhradů brought several large, excellent homemade
cakes from Domažlicko, fruit, there was no shortage
of home-made tomatoes and draft beer. Music by two accordions, the other a
small Country group from Písek. A total of 28 people gathered, including
